21 Apr Val’s Moms Fruit and Veggie Smoothie
So my mom’s been making me this smoothie for years and I love it. I’m not sure where she came up with this combination of fruits and carrots, but it works and now it’s one of my favorites. Raspberries and blueberries are loaded in anti-aging antioxidants. Bananas pack an awesome potassium punch and carrots are high in Vitamin A. Add some high quality, muscle-building protein powder and you have a vitamin-rich, fat burning smoothie that tastes amazing! So I always take my own food photography but this particular picture from istock photos caught my eye and looks exactly like the smoothie I made, so I went for it! Val’s Moms Fruit and Veggie Smoothie
Makes 2 smoothies
- 2 servings Vanilla protein powder
- 1 banana
- 1 carrot, peeled and chopped
- 1 handful raspberries, fresh or frozen
- 1 handful blueberries, fresh or frozen
- water and ice as needed
- Blend all ingredients until smooth and creamy.

This recipe has an awesome balance of protein and carbohydrates. You can add a small handful of nuts on the side for fat to help stabilize your blood sugar levels.
